There are cases that when our body’s cells make use of oxygen, there will be by-products (free radicals) that are produced. That may and can cause harm to the other cells in our body. The protein in our body is named sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), which is responsible for the biological activity of the sex hormones, testosterone and estrogen found in the body that play a role in the occurrence of type 2 diabetes. Coffee consumption, they revealed, increases plasma levels of SHBG.
A higher level of SHBG means lower risks of having any diabetes. As coffee generates higher SHBG levels, then it will help in preventing the sickness. Though this is not true for decaffeinated coffee, the research said that drinking decaf does not affect the levels of SHBG in the body.

A study showed that having three to six cups of coffee in a day may give you a 36 percent lower chance of having heart disease compared to just having one cup of coffee a day. This is good news, though moderate coffee drinking does not have a significant effect in lowering stroke, the research implied.
